Arriving in Calica
As you sail up to this port, you're looking for the traditional dock, ain't there! The shot below is after the ship completely stopped, and then rotated to do stern first, all on thrusters! SLOWLY, as is all manuvering on these ships, you watch as the ship slowly backs in. You can't help wondering how they manage to get this big ship in this space. These structures are mounted pads to allow the ship to align and hold fast. There are dockworkers there to grab lines and tie up. Note the thruster wash in the last image as the Captain out on the flybridge is using his joystick to carefully adjust the momentum of this monster. It looks simple, it's not. Nonetheless, all this is in extreme slow motion, they are not in a rush. You NEVER feel the ship "dock".
