The museum is definately worth touring, even if you've never read any of his books or know anything of him, it's all explained here. At the least, it's a very pleasent hour or two.

It's a very easy 10 block walk from where you get dropped off from the ship.

The T-shirt the guide has on his back says it all. The 60 cats, which are all there and protected (and viewable) and the other statistics are discussed in detail as well.

Amusing and telling about this man's complex life. Also speaks volumes about the age he lived in.

This is the exact place where he wrote those excellent novels. It's been preserved as it was when he died.
Summary: This is an excellent tour. If, in fact, you are devoted to his writing, you will find it's easy to talk to your guide about specifics. It's a laid back tour, and very "unrushed".

Believe it or not, this is the Kelly McGuiness from TOPGUN fame. She is a Key West native and this is her house and bar. According to the barkeeps in this pix, she actually "works" here occasionally. Janet and I sat down and I immediately began quoting the exact dialogue from the movie, since I have the tape and have watched it at least 50 times. Needless to say, they were amused. When we were there in February `99 she was doing a local play in Key West, unfortunately, couldn't attend.
